How to make a quiz game with AI

Write your questions, pick a way to answer them, and an AI builds the quiz in a few minutes: timed, scored, and playable on any phone, alone or with a room of friends.

A quiz is one of the easiest games to make well, because you already know the content. On Go Bananas you describe the quiz in plain words, with your questions in it, and an AI writes a playable browser game in a few minutes. Your first game is free, with no account needed.

Pick how the player answers

The questions are the content; the way of answering is the game. A few that work:

  • Buttons: four answers, tap one. Simple and fast, good on phones.
  • Something to hit: answers on balloons, doors or asteroids, and the player steers into the right one.
  • Against the clock: a timer bar per question, and points for speed.
  • True or false: swipe left or right, ten seconds for as many as you can.
  • With friends: everyone answers on their own phone in a room, and the fastest right answers score most. See how to make a multiplayer game.

Describe it with the questions in it

Put the questions and their answers in the description, so the game asks exactly what you want. For example:

A quiz about famous paintings, 10 questions in random order. Each question shows four answers as big buttons; the right one turns green, a wrong one red, and the right answer is shown for two seconds. 15 seconds per question with a timer bar, and more points for faster answers. At the end, the score out of 10 and a "Play again" button. Questions: "Who painted the Mona Lisa?" (Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael, Titian), "Which painter cut off part of his ear?" (Vincent van Gogh, Claude Monet, Paul Cézanne, Edgar Degas), ...

If you'd rather not write the questions, name the topic and the level, and ask the AI to write them: "12 questions about the solar system for 10-year-olds". Check them before you share the quiz: AI-written questions can be wrong.

Make it better by chatting

Play it once, then ask for one change at a time:

  • "Shuffle the answers too, not only the questions."
  • "Add a high score table."
  • "Make the buttons bigger on phones."
  • "Add five more questions about Monet."

A change usually takes a minute or two.

Share it

Publish the quiz to share it with a link or a QR code (More, then QR code to play on a phone). Anyone can play it in their browser, without an account. Publishing makes the quiz public, so keep personal details out of the questions.

More quiz ideas are on the game ideas page, under Learning and With friends: each one opens the create box with the idea typed in.

Your turn.
