Go Bananas

Make and play games from ChatGPT or Claude

Connect Go Bananas to ChatGPT or Claude, then make, change, publish and find games by asking in the chat. Each game opens in your browser from a link.

Go Bananas has a connector for AI assistants. In ChatGPT it's an app, in Claude it's a connector, and it also works in Claude Code and other apps that support MCP (the Model Context Protocol), such as Cursor. Once it's connected, you can ask your assistant to make a game, check on it, change it, publish it and share it, all without leaving the chat. This guide explains how to set it up, what you can ask, how tokens work, and what the connector can't do.

What you need

  • A Go Bananas account. If you don't have one, you can create it while connecting (see below).
  • ChatGPT, Claude, Claude Code or another app that supports MCP connectors with sign-in.

The connector's address is https://gobananas.co/mcp. It uses OAuth, the standard "sign in with" flow: your assistant opens a Go Bananas sign-in page, and you approve the connection there. Your password is never shared with the assistant.

Setting it up

The connect page has the latest steps and a one-click button for Claude. In short:

Claude

  1. Go to Customize, then Connectors, then Add custom connector.
  2. Enter the address https://gobananas.co/mcp and add it.
  3. Press Connect and sign in to Go Bananas.

On Claude's free plan you can add one custom connector.

ChatGPT

  1. Open chatgpt.com/plugins, press +, then Add custom MCP server.
  2. Name it Go Bananas and enter https://gobananas.co/mcp as the server address.
  3. Choose OAuth for authentication, accept the warning, and choose Create as a plugin.
  4. Install it, then in a new chat type @ and pick Go Bananas. The first time, you sign in to Go Bananas.

Claude Code

Run this in your terminal:

claude mcp add gobananas --transport http https://gobananas.co/mcp

Signing in, or creating an account while connecting

When your assistant opens the Go Bananas sign-in page, you have two choices:

  • Sign in with your username or email and your password.
  • New here? Create a free account. You enter your email, type the code Go Bananas sends you, and choose a name. There's no password to make up. You then come straight back to the sign-in page, already signed in, and press Allow.

If you created your account this way and later want to sign in somewhere else, use "Forgot your password" with your email to set a password.

What you can ask

You talk to your assistant normally; it picks the right Go Bananas action. Some examples:

  • Make a game: "Make me a game where a cat dodges falling cucumbers."
  • Check on it: "Is my game ready yet?"
  • Change it: "In my cucumber game, make the cucumbers fall faster and add a score counter."
  • Publish it: "Publish my cucumber game."
  • Share it: "Give me a link and a QR code to share my game."
  • Find games: "Find me a racing game I can play right now." "What's trending on Go Bananas this week?" "Show me puzzle games."
  • Remix: "Remix Royal Checkers so it's played on a hexagon board."
  • Social: "What are people saying about my game?" "Add Goat Kart Racing to my favorites." "Make a collection of my favorite racing games."
  • Your account: "How many tokens do I have left?" "Show my stats." "How many people played my game this week?"
  • Open the editor: "Give me a link to edit my game in the visual editor."

You can also plan first: "Help me design a game before you build it." Planning is free and doesn't use tokens.

How making a game works

Making a game takes a few minutes, and big games can take up to 10. If the game isn't finished within about 25 seconds, your assistant gets a creation ID and checks back until the game is ready. You can keep chatting meanwhile. The game is saved to your Go Bananas account even if you close the chat.

When it's ready, you get a link to play it in your browser. Like every new game, it starts as a private draft: only you can see it until you publish it.

Importing a game you already have

If your assistant already wrote a game for you in the chat, or you have the HTML file of a game, you don't need to make it again. Ask your assistant to import it:

  • Importing is free: no tokens are used.
  • The code is kept exactly as it is.
  • The game is saved as a private draft.
  • Go Bananas checks the game against its sandbox rules and warns about anything that would break, such as saving to browser storage, pop-up alert boxes or loading scripts from sites other than cdnjs.cloudflare.com, cdn.jsdelivr.net and unpkg.com.
  • Small games go in one step. Larger games are sent in parts, up to 900 KB of HTML in total.

The file must be a complete HTML document with a script or a canvas. After importing, you can change the game by asking for edits like any other game. See HTML game files on Go Bananas for the sandbox rules.

Tokens

Making and changing games uses tokens from your Go Bananas account. Browsing, searching, playing and importing are free.

ActionTypical cost
Make a new game30,000 to 60,000 tokens
Change a game10,000 to 20,000 tokens, more for big games
Remix without changesFree
Search, browse, play, importFree

A free account includes 150,000 tokens: 75,000 when you sign up and 75,000 more after your first game. The free first game that visitors can make on the website without an account isn't available through the connector. If you run low, you can buy more on gobananas.co: a token pack of 150,000 tokens costs $4.99, and Pro gives 1,000,000 tokens a month for $49.99.

What the connector can't do

  • Upload sound or 3D files. Audio files and 3D models can't be sent through the chat. Your assistant gives you a link to your game on Go Bananas, where you upload them from the editor. See all file formats.
  • Upload large or unusual images. Pictures you paste or attach in the chat can be added to a game if they're PNG, JPG, GIF or WebP and up to 5 MB.

Good habits

  • Ask for one change at a time and be specific: say where things are and what values you want ("make the speed 8 instead of 5").
  • Play the game between changes. Each change is saved as a new version, and you can go back from the editor's Versions tab.
  • Deleting a game can't be undone, so double-check which game you mean.
